Hey Lookers
So two weekends ago myself and Kevin were invited along to the wonderful Roe Park Resort & Spa, located just outside Limavady, to enjoy an overnight spa break. What a fabulous time we truly had as the resort offers a little piece of heaven. Luckily for me it is right on my doorstep, only one hour drive from where I live. It is the perfect spot to simply switch off from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, as you relax and unwind in the most tranquil and idyllic surroundings.
Roe Park Resort & Spa is one of Northern Ireland’s premiere golf and spa resorts. Overlooking its own stunning 18 hole parkland golf course and set amidst the gorgeous surroundings of the Roe Valley Country Park, this 4 star luxury hotel has 118 stylish rooms that blend the charm of a country house estate.
Luxury Suite with Champagne & Strawberries
We were so lucky to be housed in a luxury suite, ’The Lotus Room’, boosting stunning views over the estate and golf course. All suites are equipped with Elemis spa products and spa-quality en-suite facilities including a Jacuzzi. Each suites also boosts their own separate seating area, where we enjoyed some complimentary strawberries and champagne that went down a treat.
Casual Dining with Stunning Views
After check in, off we went to grab some lunch ahead of our spa treatments. We enjoyed some lunch in the Coach House restaurant which offers an extensive menu throughout the day, as well as evening meals. It is housed in the sympathetically restored 18th century Coach House, and it provides a more casual alternative to the fine dining experience of Greens Restaurant. With stunning views overlooking the golf course, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a bite to eat.
I opted for the Croissant and bacon, which I must confess I hadn’t seen on a menu before, and it was scrumptious. We also had our evening meal here later that evening and it was delicious, they offer an extensive menu with something for all tastes. Be warned the portions are extremely generous, but I left nothing behind as it was too nice to waste and I even managed to make some room for this delightful chocolate tarte, which was worth every bite.

Time to Relax and Rejuvenate
The Award Winning Spa at Roe Park Resort offers a wide range of luxurious Elemis Treatments and is set amidst the most stunning backdrop, so instantly you feel calm and relaxed.
After lunch it was time for our spa treatments and we were both booked in for Swedish back massages and taster facials, and I can’t tell you how much I was looking forward to this whole experience…. It was exactly what I needed. We were advised to arrive 20 minutes before our treatments so we could enjoy some ‘switch off’ time in their relaxation zone before going to the treatments, which we did, and this really helped me escape into a zone of total relaxation.
First treatment up was the Swedish back massage and boy did my back need this, it was jammed with tension and stress and lots and lots of nuts. My Therapist Naoimh, who was extremely skilled and talented, suggested a deep massage to work out the tension, as opposed to a purely relaxing massage. I liked the fact that the treatment was tailored to my needs, so not only then did I enjoy it, but it was also beneficial in treating the root of the problem. My back felt so much better after and much looser, it really made such a difference.
Then next up was my taster facial, this was so so soothing, relaxing and luxurious and I didn’t want it to end. My skin felt like porcelain after it, so much that I didn’t want to undo the goodness and for the first time ever, I could say, I went without wearing foundation that night for our diner, I just applied some illuminating cream and my skin was really glowing.
Kevin equally enjoyed his treatments and was able to relax and sit still for a while which is typically not him.
I really recommend the spa and it is definitely worth a visit, whether you’re a guest or if you come for a day’s experience you are in very talented and capable hands, as well as very being very professional and friendly. The spa offers a wide range of luxurious treatments all using a rich blend of Elemis techniques and exotic cultures.
Get Active
The hotel is renowned for its 18-hole parkland course and has established itself as one of Northern Irelands Premier golf resorts, not to mention the close proximity to some of the world’s greatest links courses across N.Ireland Coast. Whether you’re a guest of the hotel or local enthusiast, you can enjoy a round of golf or take a swing at their onsite driving range.
Or if golf isn’t your thing you can enjoy a splash and do some lengths in the heated leisure pool and stretch out and relax in the steam room, jacuzzi, and sauna after.
There is also a fully quipped gym on site, so there are no excuses, but despite planning to make a visit to it on Sunday morning, that didn’t happen, but I blame the comfort of our suites, as I slept like a baby and nothing was shifting me.
We did however head out for a walk on Sunday morning, after we enjoyed a delicious breakfast that features lots of local produce might I add, which I love to see. The Roe Valley Country Park is adjacent to the hotel and is well worth seeing, it is so picturesque offering spectacular riverside views and woodland walks. We enjoyed a lovely walk and it was the perfect backdrop for me taking dozens of pictures.
Perfect Base to Explore NI
The hotel is also the ideal place to base yourself for exploring some of the iconic sites that Northern Ireland have to offer with the Giant’s Causeway and historic city of Derry-Londonderry just a short drive away.
Warm Up or Warm Down
If you’re in the mood for an early evening cocktail – or a late nightcap – O’Cahan’s bar offers a relaxing yet lively spot for a drink,. We enjoyed some pre-dinner drinks here before and after dinner we had a few night caps over some live music, which they have every Friday and Saturday night.
A Little Slice Of Heaven
Overall we had the most enjoyable time away, from the scrumptious food and nourishing therapies to the tranquil setting and scenic woodland walks, it really is the ideal place to switch off from the busyness of the outside world and totally relax.

P.S..A refurb is underway
The hotel is working on major refurbishment on their function room, so if you thinking about planning an event or special occasion, this would make the ideal venue, set in the most stunning backdrop. Here is a sneak peak of what’s to come…doesn’t it look fab!
