My Special Place

An Creagán is a special place for me, not just because my daddy manages it, but it was somewhere that I worked for almost 10 years when I was young and growing up and in need of pocket money. To have somewhere on my doorstep that I could earn cash and get an invaluable and lifelong experience was fantastic, and still now to this day its somewhere that I frequently go, whether it be for a coffee, a bit of lunch, a walk, play time with my nieces and nephews or just to sit in nature and switch off, I’m so fortunate to have such a gem right beside me.

Summer Afternoon Tea

So when I was invited along to experience An Creagán  NEW Summer Afternoon Tea, I jumped at the chance, and more than that when they asked me to invite along 20 other bloggers to experience it with me, I was so excited and proud to showcase a place that is so unique and special to me.

The scrumptious delights

All kinds for tea

Afternoon tea at An Creagán is presented in a slightly more country way, with hearty every day sandwiches, hot nibbles and proper large sweet bites, all simply scrumptious. The teas didn’t disappoint either, they served everything from mint chocolate to apricot & peach and lots in between.

The room was so delightfully decorated by Wooden Treats, which was very in keeping with the ethos and style of An Creagan, being in the middle of a bogland. The centre itself is designed to reflect the archaeology sites in the region, and is nestled in a quaint and tranquil setting offering a rich blend of unique landscapes and wonderful wildlife, making it the perfect spot to unwind, recharge or be at peace with nature!

Discovering the Site

All our lovely bloggers had the opportunity to share with the group a bite size on their own blog and journey, which was fascinating to hear all the individual stories. We also had lots of time to mingle and get to chat to one another. Many of the bloggers even went on their own little excursions of the site to see one of the 8 self-catering cottages, some took a walk in the ‘wild woods’ play area and others a browse in the craft shop.

Stunning Backdrops

We were delighted to have Gerarda, from Gerarda McGlone Photography, with us to capture all the special moments and snippets of the day. There was no shortage off backdrops for the numerous pics that were taken, from the fabulous flower wall, kindly sponsored by Flower Walls NI, to the forest paths, boglands and wild flower blooms. Since we had so many amazing pictures we wanted to acknowledge it in the way of a little competition, so An Creagan selected the top two pictures that captured the afternoon tea and the facilities at their site. The winning photos  are below and the lucky winners received a Gift Voucher from Donna Blaker Makeup and Galway Crystal Gin Glasses Wrapped Up Luxury Gifts.

Gifts Galore

Talking of gifts, all our bloggers were treated to not one but two goodie bags. The first included some items from the craft shop on site, which included a lovely little magnet with a cute ‘quote’, a voucher from Sobelle Millinery, another voucher from An Creagan to return for some more Afternoon Tea at An Creagan and a beautiful print from Award winning and local artist Anne McCaughey. The prints are all off significant archaeology sites that are dotted throughout the region.

As well as that all our bloggers received another fab gift from Wrapped Up Luxury Gifts in conjunction with Galway Irish Crystal, to include a mix of their stunning wine and prosecco glasses.
