Colour Crush
Pink and Red, I just love them separate and together. It was very much a SS17 trend, but I have picked up quite a few bits of pinks and red for my AW17 wardrobe and hence I’m seeing the trend through to now. Whether its russet or fuschia or ruby or blush, these vibrant colours can play off one another, so I had a bit of fun pulling this look together.
Something Old, Something new
I always like to mix some new season items along with older season pieces and this is exactly what I did with this outfit. This little dress I think I have about 5 years now and only wore it once, so out it came again when I decided on the red/pink theme. I styled it with my red wool coat which I picked up this season, (I have talked a lot about this coat). Then I layered up with this cosy red and pink scarf, also new this season,which I adore. I get so many seasons out of scarfs as most of them are quite timeless. I could have went the full hog and teamed the outfit with red tights and pinks boots, but I currently don’t own such items, therefore I opted for black tights, which also felt more comfy as the dress is quite short. Then I finished with these black boots, last seasons, which are a slightly more dressy style.
Finishing the look
Then for my accessories I had to get wearing my new statement pink earrings that were perfect since they were pink. I had also just received a new chain as a birthday present, (it was my birthday on Saturday), so i wanted to wear it. The chain is delicate and simple which contrasted with the noise of the overall look.
