P.S I Got Engaged

Happy Sunday Everyone

So my good news is out…I Got ENGAGED.. (albeit it was last week) and it has been a LONG week holding it back from my close friends and wider family, as we had to wait on some family members to return from holidays to share the news this weekend.

So the story goes, we got engaged last week when we were away on our short break and no nicer place to do it than in beautiful Ireland. On day 3 of our trip we headed out that morning for a bike ride on the Wicklow mountains and then had a spot of lunch in the little village beside our hotel, in Enniskerry. That afternoon we headed out for a drive along the beautiful Sally Gap in Co.Wicklow, which boosts the the famous ‘Guinness Lake‘ and the iconic bridge from P.S I Love You. Do you remember the scene where Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler meet for the first time, its that bridge. So we stopped here to take some pics and get a better chance to appreciate the stunning views and scenery. It was so peaceful and quiet, not another car or person to be seen. With the entire place to ourselves and the amazing and iconic setting, it was just perfect for that moment when I said ‘YES’.

That evening, we celebrated with a beautiful meal in our hotel, in the Sika Restaurant, and that night we enjoyed a few glasses of Prosecco, sampled some new Gin’s and ate our way through some chocolate treats. The perfect end to a perfect day.

Day 4, I couldn’t wait to get back home to share the news with all my family and friends. Despite having to wait almost a week to tell everyone, which was soooo hard, it’s been so nice sharing my news and celebrating and enjoying the joy of it all. And I’m looking forward to more celebrations in the days and weeks to come.

Overall not a bad week and weekend, here’s to more good times ahead.
